Bicycle shed Spuiplein, The Hague
Guarded bicycle shed near City Hall, The Hague
On the Spuiplein, near the Hague city hall, we designed a guarded cycle shed for 150 bicycles. This shed is mainly used by visitors of the city hall - designed by Richard Meier - and visitors of the adjoining library.
For the shed we designed a new type of cycle stand, made of stainless steel. The stand is not only elegantly shaped, but it is also user and maintenance friendly.
Frosted screens, made of tempered layered glass, surround the shed.
The administrators house has deliberately been given a very transparent look. The choice of material - glass and stainless steel - gives it a unique appearance.
